Artist-owned music discovery for sync licensing
That's My Ish Sync Catalog gives filmmakers, music supervisors, editors, and creators access to the published catalog of That's My Ish. Visitors can filter tracks by musical characteristics, review release and instrumentation details, and audition preview audio in the browser.
Catalog workflow
- Browse published tracks from one artist
- Combine mood, genre, and BPM filters
- Open track pages with musical metadata, release context, and instrumentation
- Stream preview-only audio without exposing downloadable masters
- Share filtered catalog views through URL-driven state
The MVP displays a Request License pathway but keeps submissions disabled. Its current scope is discovery and evaluation.
Product and implementation choices
Structured search
Mood, genre, and tempo are reusable taxonomy in Sanity. Combined filters help creative teams narrow the catalog for a scene, edit, campaign, or visual direction.
Controlled audio previews
The player serves in-app, stream-only previews from Cloudflare R2. Playback is limited to one active track, with keyboard controls and visible loading and failure states.
Independent catalog publishing
Tracks, releases, artwork, and taxonomy are managed in Sanity Studio. Published-content-only queries keep drafts out of public results, and catalog updates do not require frontend code changes.
Predictable browsing
The catalog uses deterministic ordering, bounded pagination, responsive layouts, and separate public browsing and private editorial access.
Technology
- SvelteKit 3, Svelte 5, and TypeScript for the server-rendered public application
- Tailwind CSS v4 and Lucide for the responsive interface
- Sanity Content Lake and GROQ for structured catalog data
- Cloudflare R2 for preview-audio storage and delivery
- Cloudflare Workers tooling for editorial storage capabilities
- Playwright, Node test runner, and Biome for end-to-end coverage, data-contract tests, formatting, and static checks
